About Sam Chan

I am a keen player of all racquet sports and have been stringing racquets for more than 30 years.

As well as stringing for the pros at international tournaments, I provide personal racquet stringing and racquet customisation services for all levels of players from my workshop in West London.

It is my belief that all players are entitled to have their racquets strung to the highest standard, regardless of their status within the sport.

Grand Slam Stringer

In the course of my career, I have been a member of the Official Stringing Team at a total of 17 Grand Slam Tournaments.

In 2006, I strung at all four Grand Slam Tournaments in one calendar year:

• The Australian Open
• Roland Garros (The French Open)
• The Wimbledon Championships
• The US Open.

Personal Stringer

I have been "Personal Stringer" to many of the world's top tennis players including:

• Serena Williams when she won the singles title at Wimbledon in 2002 and 2003
• Anthony Dupuis when he won at Milan 2004
• Roger Federer when he won at the AIG Japan Open 2006
• Rafael Nadal when he won his first grass court tournament at the Artois 2008.
• Ivo Karlovic at the Wimbledon Championships 2009

Olympic Stringer

In 2004, I was invited to be a member of the Official Olympic Stringing team in Athens, Greece.

I was personal stringer to Tim Henman and Roger Federer as well as several of the games medallists:

• Mardy Fish
• Ivan Ljubicic
• Ting Li and Tian Tian Sun.
